The NEW Civic TYPE Rrrrrr.....

Complete with Brembo brakes, 18 inch wheels wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza rubbers, this wild machine will power you to oblivion with its 2.0 litre engine producing 225bhp/8000rpm and 159lb-ft/6100rpm.... and will bring you back with seatbelt marks once you're done.

And did I forget to mention?... It's a four-door sedan.... with a red starter button:)

Enjoy the pictures :

To be launched in Japan tomorrow (30th March 2007).

Low-rider or crappy suspension?.....

Took this pic last week in KL, there were 2 occupants in the rear seat of the car.
Low-rider or crappy suspension?.... hehehee....

Overheating Auto Transmission?...

Fitted in an ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) cooler about three weeks ago. Here's the pic:

It's being held up by the radiator using the included plastic mounts and spacers. Was doubtful about the installation method, but the mechanic said that it was alright. So I guess i'll just take his word for it....

After installing the ATF cooler, I found that the auto 'box's shifting has improved significantly. I tried downshifting at high speeds and the shift was very smooth, followed by smooth power delivery too.... i'm very impressed... normal upshifts were smoother too, if you were wondering :)

Got it for RM480, including the installation and additional hoses because the provided hoses were insufficient. This is a must-have for those with auto transmissions :)

More info:

Brand = Hayden.

Installer = Bosch Service Centre (Relau, opposite the PISA stadium. You won't miss it, it's a large corner shoplot).

Installation time = between 1 hour to 2 hours.

Tonk !... Tonk !....

Dented wheel repair.... Klang style !!....

All he needs is a block of wood and a hammer....

Apparently, dented wheel repairs are so common in Klang that he says he does an average of 10 repairs a week.... hmm... Malaysian roads....

Eibach Pro-Kit for my ride....

Check out the lower stance of my ride after fitting in the Eibach Federn Pro-Kit coils.... loving it. Just came back from Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the drive back was great !!

P/S: Sorry for the poor picture quality, was using my mobile phone's camera.

Speedy movies this year...

Here are two movies for car enthusiasts that will be released this year:

Taxi 4
(French language)

Daniel, the flying taxi driver is back to fight crime and irritate the French police !!

This time, his taxi is upgraded to the Peugeot 407, from his previous flying Peugeot 406.

This movie will be a good laugh for those who love cars.

I loved the first three Taxi movies... (not the American version, that one sucked... BIG TIME)

Predicted rating:
Great scripting, stunts, and cars (especially the 407).

Trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9KDTzVN2jM

RED LINE
(English language)

This has been tagged as the upscale version of 2 Fast 2 Furious. This means, it will be a crappy movie. In fact, the only reason I went to watch 2f2f : Tokyo Drift was because of the free tickets.... If someone gave me free tickets to this movie, I 'might' try to like it.

This movie is just an excuse to show off exotic cars, sexy women and give 'Undercover Brother' a job. Just look at what he did to one of the cars recently (posting below).

Predicted rating:
Crappy storyline, lame scripting, sooooo American.

Ouch !!....

Actor Eddie Griffin, popularly known as the 'Undercover Brother' crashed a Ferrari Enzo at a rehearsal for a charity event.

Looks like his monetary contribution will come out much earlier before the event :)

Interesting Day....

I'm now blogging from CoffeeBean, Sunway Piramid. What an eventful day!!

Well, the day started with the usual breakfast at my uncle's place, then I tried to do my college project work, but could not get anything done. Well, since I was getting bored and it was time for lunch, I decided to go out for lunch, at the mall nearby.

On the way out, I got a call from my friend (an owner of a car performance/tuning garage); he told me that the suspension system that I was waiting for has arrived, and the good chap selling it to me was there too (his name is Mark). So, after lunch, I went down to his garage at the Subang industrial area to have a look at the stuff. It was a set of Eibach Federn Pro-Kit coil springs and a full set of OEM-spec shock absorbers (both are relatively new; albeit being used for only a week). The price he gave me was really good, too good to resist :)

So, we drove to his(Mark) buddy's shop around the corner and got them installed. They even replaced two wheel hub studs that were broken for only RM10.... cheap lor... Anyway, got the suspension system installed and the alignment checked and tuned for a very good price, way below what I expected to pay.... this 'Mark' guy knows where to find good deals....

As we were talking about our cars, we drifted into the ICE subject. ICE stands for In-Car Entertainment. He said he was interested to begin improving his car's ICE. So I offered him my used CD/MP3/WMA player for a good price, and he was happy to take it. I was ecstatic!!

I was initially worried that the CD player could not be sold, so that worry is over :)

Then he took me to another one of his 'buddy's' shop that does installation for ICE, and they took out my old CD player and installed the new one for me in less than 15 minutes.... wow... and he only charged me RM20.

After that, Mark also told me about a few more of his 'affiliated' shops; places that I can get a very good deal:)

Well, after all that, I came to Sunway to have sushi and use the free Internet service here in CoffeeBean.

I did all the things that I needed to do for today, tomorrow and the weekend; so now I have more time to complete my college project:)

SOLD !! Aston Martin goes to Prodrive....

Ford-owned luxury sports car brand Aston Martin is finally sold to British automotive company Prodrive.

Who is Prodrive? For those who are not familiar, Prodrive currently runs programmes for the Subaru World Rally Team in the World Rally Championship; for Aston Martin Racing in world sports car series; and for the Ford Performance Racing team in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series. Some might recognise Prodrive through their famous prototype car, the P2 (The car that made Jeremy Clarkson puke on screen :)

However, Ford will still own 15% of Aston Martin's shares after selling the remaining 85% for $848 mil.

Proton Waja/Impian Review....

The Proton Waja CamPro as been reviewed by Auto Express:

Auto Express Proton Waja/Impian 1.6 (CamPro) Review

My (new) Favourite Ride....

The new E92 M3.

It will most probably have a V8 engine producing more than 410 horses, propelling the sleek beauty to a 5 sec century sprint (0-100km/h). The V8 monster engine will be mated to a DSG gearbox, giving smooth and very fast gearchanges to burn the tyres on the 19" M3 alloy wheels.
The construction of this M3 will use lessons learned from the previous generation M3 CSL, such as the CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic) roof and aluminium bonnet. Hopefully, they don't use cardboard for the rear boot floors like in the CSL :)
Due to launch by Christmas 2007.
Would really love to own one.....

Keepin' Yourself Safe when driving....

Did you know that up to 90% of road accidents are because of driver error?

Simple tips to remember when driving:

1. Always put on your SEAT BELT. It's there to keep you alive.

2. Focus on the road and vehicles in front and beside you. You don't have to look at the guy picking his nose in the car beside.

3. Anticipate what vehicles around you are gonna do. This will give you an edge when it comes to emergency situations.

4. Do not use your mobile phones or try to text your friends while driving. If you need to call someone or answer the phone, put on your hands-free kit before driving.

5. Use your indicator lights (signal lights) when changing lanes, preparing to turn into a corner or when stopping on the side of the road.

6. Keep you windscreen and windows clean.... they are the eyes of your car.

7. Please don't drive way below the speed limit on the right lane (overtaking lane). I really hate it when people drive at 60km/h on the right lane of an 80km/h road. You may not realise this, but by driving slowly, you are creating traffic jams and causing accidents behind you.

That's all... try to practice these simple tips and make them a habit. These tips may save your life.

Scratch repair....

Sent my car in for a re-spray (front and rear bumper + front and rear lips + front grill + touch-up a few paint chips) today. It will take 2 days to complete. Estimated cost: RM300

This is much cheaper than the quote I got from a well known car spray paint garage here in Penang. The garage, located near McDonald's Greenlane estimated the cost of the job to be RM600, which is double the quote I got today.

Was chatting with the owner of the spray garage, he mentioned that he was 'afraid' to handle cars like mine, with are meticulously detailed, because such customers are difficult to please ;)

Here are the scratches I got when parking at Queen's Bay Mall (basement carpark):

Acid Soup....

Hmm... anyone interested? As if instant noodles aren't bad enough for you....

Penang's Dyno machine....

Finally, Penang's first car dyno machine is here (2wd dyno)... imho, long overdued. I have been doing my car's dyno tuning at Links in Sunway, Subang all this while.

This is installed at Northern Garage in Sg.Dua. Not sure when it will be ready to run.

Email me if you need more info, or Northern Garage's contact details.

Muffler Tip fetish....

Count the exhaust muffler tips... Only one is working...

And look at the Mitsubishi logo replacing the Proton one....

Why? Why? Why?... these are crimes against car modification...

Cracked Brake Pads...

Well, I didn't expect the EBC Greenstuff to crack only after 5000 kms (even without track usage). Went back to the workshop to get them replaced... unfortunately the shop didn't have any more new EBCs for my car, so they replaced the pads with a new set F.O.C. (Brand: CAM - No idea, haven't heard of this brand, but what the heck, needed to use the car.)

So far the replacements are working well, no complaints.

The EBC pad is the one marked by the red arrow. (It's black in colour because the shop sprayed it with paint)

Pics from my trip to Ha'erbin...

Just to share:
Malaysian effort: (Titled: Love The World)
One of the many ice sculptures:

Me, learning how to ski... not easy...

Blardy potholes....

Penang's roads are splattered with deep potholes that will dent rims and could even damage the suspension system of the car.... I'm the latest victim...

One of my wheel is dented and I have been searching many tyre/wheel shops here in Penang for the same model to replace the dented one, but no success so far.

Anyone who knows where I can get this particular model in Penang, please let me know.... I'll owe you a Teh Tarik :)

Model: 17" Lenso GF-7
