Chinese Car Crash Test....

Well, the car in the picture above is the Brilliance BS6 mid-sized sedan, aimed at the Nissan Sentra, Proton Waja, Honda Civic, and Toyota Altis.

Note that the A-pillar, together with the floorboard has folded and allowed the door to pop out and shoved the dashboard inwards. Also note the dummy's face is in contact with the dashboard even with the airbags deployed. The dummy has suffered severe damage and is pinned in the car, which in human terms means 'fatal crash'.
Chinese car manufacturers still have a long way to go. Even the much criticised Proton Waja fares better than this car.
Here is the crash test done by ADAC using NCAP-like tests: (German language)

Love my engine now.....

Just sent my car for its scheduled service recently, and decided to ignore Proton Service centers altogether as my car's warranty has expired, and they charge cut-throat prices.

First, bought Shell Engine Oil Flush at a Shell gas station for RM25 /4liters. Then drained the old oil and poured the flush in. After 5 minutes, drained the flushing oil and voila!.. look at the photo below:

After replacing the oil filter and pouring in the Motul 6100 Synergie+ Semi-synthetic 10W 40, the engine runs really quiet and revs really smoothly !!! Its so different from my previous experience with the Petronas Syntium 800 Semi-synthetics....

With the Syntium, the engine sounds course after revving past 4500 rpms, but now with Motul, its sounding really great all the way till 6500 rpms!!!

I love revving the engine now.... sounds great ! There goes my fuel economy :)

Been Missing....

Since my last post, i've been to KL once, goofed around doing nonsense and went to Singapore for a shopping trip with my darling. Guess what? At Changi, we missed the flight back to Penang, and had to re-schedule to the next day. Got an extra day of shopping !!! :)

Congrats to Man Utd...

Congrats to Man Utd for winning the Premiership title. Hope to have a good FA Cup final soon too.... :)

Chelsea lost... guess what? Man Utd too :) ....

I was kinda disappointed when Chelsea lost to Liverpool at Anfield in the second leg of their Champion's League match-up. Well, Man Utd lost to Milan too, with a larger scoreline.... hehehee.... and Ferguson is whining about the Premiership schedule... Jose, you have a whining competitor :)

Well, all that's left for Man Utd and Chelsea to fight for is the FA Cup this month.

Man Utd has virtually secured the Premiership title, and Chelsea has already won the Carling Cup.

Well, I hope Jose Mourinho stays for a few more seasons.

Going to KL again....

I will be going to KL tomorrow with my darling, most probably returning to Penang on Tuesday.

This will be the first of 4 trips down to KL for the next 3 months.

- This trip
- May 18th - 27th (Advanced Driving Course - DSSW) + (Meguiar's WPC Detailing Clinic)
- End of June (Convocation robe collection)
- Early July (Convocation)

Yet to decide which of the remaining three trips I will be travelling by air.

Chelsea vs Man Utd....

Man Utd won 3-2 against AC Milan at Home. (Man Utd 1-up)

Chelsea won 1-0 against Liverpool at Home. (Chelsea 1-up)

Even though the results are in favour of Man Utd and Chelsea progressing to the Final in Athens, both teams' confidence levels and progression outlooks are totally different.

For Man Utd, everyone (team, manager, fans, media, etc) is fully confident that they will topple AC Milan at the San Siro next week and progress to the Final. However,on the Chelsea side, most people don't have the confidence that the Blues will win or draw at Anfield even though they are currently one up against the Kop. Pundits have favoured Liverpool to progress.....

Why is this happening? Is it due to the dominance of MU players in the PFA Team selection? Is it due to Cristiano Ronaldo sweeping 3 awards recently? Is it due to the lack of attacking power from the Blues?

Pundits and football analyst have highlighted that Jose Mourinho is feeling the heat, no longer from the boardroom, but from Man Utd and Liverpool. They said he is feeling nervous, which is very rare for a man who can 'smell' what will happen in the future. With only so few games remaining in the Premiership, the title race is nearing its climax and only the 'smartest' team will win it.

So, who will we see in the Finals in May? Lets find out next week.

Music and Lyrics....

Movie Title: Music and Lyrics

Starring : Hugh Grant, Drew Barrymore, Haley Bennett
Genre : Music, Comedy, Romance

Just watched this movie with my darling, and we loved it.

Hugh Grant is just so smooth and the scripts were perfectly written for him. The music was great and we learned a little more about the world of pop music.

Haley Bennett, who plays Cora Corman is hot, very hot indeed for a girl her age. I think the Malaysian censorship board might censor some of her scenes.

Recommended movie for couples and Hugh Grant fans. Overall a very good movie. No cheesy or lame lines or scenes, thoroughly entertaining.

My Rating: 4.5 of 5

First time ever....

I drove back from KL to Penang today, and for the first time I adhered to the speed limit (even the 60km/h ones). Well, I did this because I wanted to see how long will I take to reach Penang on a legal speed :)

Usually, it will take around 3 hours 30 minutes to reach Penang from KL (from the Kerinchi Link). Today, it took 5 hours. I didn't mind the travel time, but the drive was stressful.

On the highway, NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY travels at a constant 110km/h. Everyone either travels around 95km/h or way above 110km/h. Its so difficult to keep to a single lane since our 'world-class' highways are only 2 lanes wide. On some instances, I nearly fell asleep 'cos the drive was so boring because at 110km/h, there is totally no sense of speed and no body-roll when taking a corner.

Well, on the plus side, the fuel consumption of my car was low and returned an impressive 14.7km/l. (I usually get around 10km/l).

PC Fair 2007....

Haih... went to the PC Fair 2007 in KLCC today, was expecting to see something good..... but there wasn't anything good. (actually couldn't see a thing, was too crowded... promoter girls weren't attractive either....)

Anyway, I have made up my own stats about why people go to PC Fair:

10% Go there to purchase IT-related stuff.

10% Go there to check out new stuff.

5% Go there for the female promoters.

15% Go there for the sake of keeping up with whatever other people are doing.

30% Go there to 'walk-walk'.

And the rest (remaining 30%) are there just to accompany whoever that makes up the stats for any of the above.

This is just so irritating. There was a couple with a very young baby (maybe around 3 months old), and the baby was screaming his/her head off because the baby made a doo-doo (anybody within a 300 meter radius could smell). This is just plain stupid. Why can't the husband just leave the wife and baby at home when he knows they will be coming to a very crowded and noisy place? Farking idiot. Want a family outing? Go to a fun-fair or go to the beach. Anyway, malays can picnic anywhere, even beside a public toilet.

Anyway, bought a few ink cartridges for my printer and subscribed to TIME magazine, with a free 1-year subscription to FORTUNE mag as well.

Well, PC Fair really sucks.

The NEW Civic TYPE Rrrrrr.....

Complete with Brembo brakes, 18 inch wheels wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza rubbers, this wild machine will power you to oblivion with its 2.0 litre engine producing 225bhp/8000rpm and 159lb-ft/6100rpm.... and will bring you back with seatbelt marks once you're done.

And did I forget to mention?... It's a four-door sedan.... with a red starter button:)

Enjoy the pictures :

To be launched in Japan tomorrow (30th March 2007).

Low-rider or crappy suspension?.....

Took this pic last week in KL, there were 2 occupants in the rear seat of the car.
Low-rider or crappy suspension?.... hehehee....

Overheating Auto Transmission?...

Fitted in an ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) cooler about three weeks ago. Here's the pic:

It's being held up by the radiator using the included plastic mounts and spacers. Was doubtful about the installation method, but the mechanic said that it was alright. So I guess i'll just take his word for it....

After installing the ATF cooler, I found that the auto 'box's shifting has improved significantly. I tried downshifting at high speeds and the shift was very smooth, followed by smooth power delivery too.... i'm very impressed... normal upshifts were smoother too, if you were wondering :)

Got it for RM480, including the installation and additional hoses because the provided hoses were insufficient. This is a must-have for those with auto transmissions :)

More info:

Brand = Hayden.

Installer = Bosch Service Centre (Relau, opposite the PISA stadium. You won't miss it, it's a large corner shoplot).

Installation time = between 1 hour to 2 hours.

Tonk !... Tonk !....

Dented wheel repair.... Klang style !!....

All he needs is a block of wood and a hammer....

Apparently, dented wheel repairs are so common in Klang that he says he does an average of 10 repairs a week.... hmm... Malaysian roads....

Eibach Pro-Kit for my ride....

Check out the lower stance of my ride after fitting in the Eibach Federn Pro-Kit coils.... loving it. Just came back from Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the drive back was great !!

P/S: Sorry for the poor picture quality, was using my mobile phone's camera.
